Curriculum
The Farnley Academy is extremely proud of its curriculum developments over the last twelve months. A move to establish a diverse and forward thinking Key Stage 4 programme has led to the creation of ‘curriculum pathways’ in which students in Years 10 and 11 are given an opportunity to embrace a vocational or work-related option alongside their traditional GCSE subjects. Furthermore, we are constantly striving to improve and enhance our provision of specialist vocational related qualifications in a range of sectors to provide our students with the best possible choice of career and study opportunities.
We believe that our curriculum pathways are relevant and appropriate to our learners, offering a genuinely personalised curriculum that is built around the needs, aspirations and abilities of each young person. The expansion of our vocational provision into Post-16 now means students of all abilities have genuine progression opportunities at 14 -19 whichever curriculum pathway they choose.
