Recent House assemblies at Farnley Academy have been full of energy, teamwork, and friendly competition, as students came together to earn additional tokens for their Houses.

During the assemblies, students took part in a series of exciting challenges designed to test both skill and coordination. One of the standout activities saw participants racing against the clock to see how many balls they could successfully throw into buckets within one minute, across two fast-paced rounds. The competitive spirit didn’t stop there, as both students and staff also went head-to-head in an entertaining basketball shoot-out, adding to the lively atmosphere.

After all scores were counted, the results were as follows:

Asquith – 2430
Bronte – 2040
Moore – 2100
Tomlinson – 2540

Although Tomlinson secured the highest score in the assemblies, Moore House maintained their strong position overall. Having built up a significant lead earlier in the term, Moore finished Half Term 3 at the top of the leaderboard and were rewarded with a non-uniform day during the final week of term.

The competition remains incredibly close, with Bronte, Asquith and Tomlinson now pushing hard and closing the gap on Moore. With everything still to play for, excitement is building as students look ahead to the Half Term 5 prize of an ice cream reward, as well as the highly anticipated Half Term 6 reward event. Students can look forward to an afternoon packed with inflatables, games, food stalls, and much more.

Well done to all students and staff involved for making the assemblies such a success, and we look forward to seeing how the competition unfolds in the coming weeks.
