Meet our Student Leadership Team

Meet our Student Leadership Team2018-07-27T15:37:57+00:00

Each year, approximately 20 students across Years 7-11 are democratically elected onto the Student Executive and Student Leadership Team by their peers. These students put themselves forward and go through an application process and join the team where maturity and pride is essential. The process that students go through provides them with an understanding of democracy and preparing their own manifesto mimics parts of real life election processes.

Students elected attend regular meetings both together as a team, and with the Senior Leadership Team, every term to discuss any issues and potential changes. The Student Leadership Team also play an active role in key events at the academy such as open evening and parent consultation evenings. Students are not only involved with these events but also play an integral part of recruitment of staff including student panel interviews and tours of the academy.

Iga

(Year 11)

My favourite subject is German.  I find it fascinating to learn the culture of a completely different country and to speak their language. The teachers are amazing and have had previous experience living in Germany.  Not only that, but I believe it will enable me to access higher careers as employers understand how difficult it is to learn a new language, as well as the ability to communicate to many different people.

My ambition is to be a successful lawyer. I want to help as many people as I can to fulfil legal requirements of individuals and businesses.

I wanted to be part of the student leadership team as I wanted to make a change. Though I understand that representing the school as a whole is vital, I believe that listening to individual needs is important in order to create a friendly environment where everyone can further develop their skills and education.
