At The Farnley Academy, our vision is simple; to deliver ‘An Exceptional Student Experience for All’. To us, the ‘Student Experience’ is all encompassing of a child’s educational journey. We get to know our students before they arrive to us in Year 7 and keep in touch with them long after they leave us in Year 11. Students who attend The Farnley Academy receive nothing but the best and we ensure that no matter how much money a family may / may not have, this does not impact on a child’s educational opportunities. The full ‘TFA Student Experience’ is available to all.
Our work as an academy is of the very highest order and is, always, centred around the child. We believe passionately that all young people, irrespective of their background, can achieve and be successful in their lives. Our goal is to ensure that we provide the appropriate level of guidance, support, and opportunities to make this a reality.
We achieve our vision through the implementation of our 8 step ‘Strategy for Success’.
Our vision for our students is characterised in 8 key areas.
Underpinning our work are our three ‘Core Values’ which are alive throughout our academy, both within the classroom and around school.
We ask all members of our community to be Ambitious, Resilient, and Kind. Each ‘Core Value’ is part of our dialogue with our young people as well as our filter for all decision made across our academy.
We are proud that our values have stood the test of time and remain as pertinent today (perhaps more so!) as when they were created by our student body five years ago.
The impact of our work as an academy is reflected in the views and actions of our community. We continually seek to improve everything we do and evaluate our success with our whole community on a regular basis.
Key markers of our success include:
- Sustained Academic Success (2021/22: +0.66, 2022/23: +0.72)
- Pupil Premium Progress (2021/22: +0.26, 2022/23: +0.24)
- Highly Engaged Student Body (2022/23: 60% of students applied to be a Student Leader)
- An Ambitious Curriculum that Inspires our Student Body (95% of students now study a language to GCSE Level)
Popularity within the local Community (Oversubscribed for 5 years)
The realisation of our vision is a journey, however, every day, as a community, we move one step closer to the achievement of our goals and remain tenacious in the pursuit of excellence for our young people.
