This week Year 7 and 8 completed their first Empowerment Days of the year. Each year group has two Empowerment Days per year that are specifically designed to cover aspects of PSHCEE that cannot be delivered through other lessons. The PSCHCEE curriculum provides opportunities for students to consider personal, social and economic related topics and reflect upon their own health and contribution to society. These days are ultimately designed to ’empower’ students and provide the skills required in the wider world as they approach the challenges of adulthood. Examples of empowerment sessions include:
- Resilience & Peer Pressure
- Loss & Grief
- Being Charitable
- Coping with Strong Emotions
- Gender Equality & Racism
Both Year 7 and 8 conducted themselves with outstanding maturity and enthusiasm throughout their first Empowerment Days.
