Last week, all year groups received a remembrance assembly. The was delivered by history students and Ms Kitson who delivered the powerful message clearly. Students learnt about the personal story of Noel Godfrey who served in WW1, which made students reflect on the experiences endured by people not much older than themselves. A small group of students organised raising money for the British Legion through poppy sales.
On 11/11/19 we held our annual remembrance service. Lessons stopped and students were directed outside to pay their respects. Poetry was read and The Last Song was played. All students and staff then observed a two minute silence. Students conducted themselves in an exemplary fashion, recognising the importance of the event and all that it signifies.
