Having now been in the position of AP for three weeks, I wanted to take this opportunity to share my thoughts about my new role and share a few highlights that I have been fortunate enough to experience.
Firstly, joining the Senior Leadership Team has been a really exciting part of my career. I enjoy being part of a team of exceptional colleagues, all whom are experts within their own focus areas. Working hand in hand with such a robust team only helps me to gain more insight and information on how to help effectively lead a wonderful school like The Farnley Academy.
Alongside this, I feel truly fortunate to be overseeing the teaching and learning at this school, something I am sincerely passionate about. I am in a position where I am able to work closely alongside staff members on a daily basis to secure outstanding lessons for our young people that eventually will lead to outstanding outcomes and open up an array of opportunities. I feel privileged to be part of ensuring all of our students are extremely successful in their studies that will undoubtedly be one stepping stone in securing success in their lives.
But besides this, one thing I have noticed within my new role is how exceptional both the staff and students within this academy are. Teachers deliver lessons with passion, vigour and pace and it has been genuinely enjoyable to observe staff members with students. With the passion being evidently delivered by staff, in turn the students have a thirst for learning and their enthusiasm and effort on the whole is phenomenal.
I feel the most excited about the opportunity to work closely with our NQTs (newly qualified teachers) and want to continue to build on the expertise and knowledge that they have already quickly established.
So, in summary, this role is everything that I imagined… and much more. I feel enormous joy and pride to continue my journey at The Farnley Academy.
