I feel very excited to be continuing my career at TFA as part of the Senior Leadership Team. Having been at the Farnley Academy since 2012, it has been amazing to see the transformation which has occurred over the last 2 years. We now have a substantial pastoral team who do a fantastic job in supporting our students. The rewards in place for attendance and the house system are phenomenal and really create a buzz around the school.
Through my role in Community Engagement, I hope to strengthen the links between The Farnley Academy and its community. The students at The Farnley Academy are so amazing and do brilliant things day in, day out and I feel very lucky that part of my new role is to share these achievements with parents, carers and the wider community. I would really like our students to also become more involved with local charities and also be able to do more for the local area.
Now that I get to see more of what is going on in the wider school, one of the things that I feel most proud of The Farnley Academy for is the opportunities we provide for our students. The extra-curricular activities are brilliant and staff really go the extra mile to ensure that all students have incredible opportunities and reap the benefits of these sessions. I’ve also been lucky enough to observe a range of lessons across the school and have been blown away by the quality of the teaching and learning in addition to the engagement of the students.
I’m really looking forward to what this year has in store for me at The Farnley Academy working with such a remarkable team.
