This year we have made some changes to our school day and procedures to keep everyone as safe as possible and ensuring that all students can access the highest quality education they deserve.

To manage student arrivals, we now have different entrances and exits with years 7, 9 and 11 using the Main Drive and year 8 and 10 arriving and exiting via Whincover Drive. Furthermore, we have staggered starts and exits for the different year groups to avoid them unnecessarily mixing outside of their bubbles. Upon arrival, all students must wash their hands at one of our hand washing stations. We are pleased to be able to continue to offer our free breakfast club; students can collect a free bagel to eat in their form room.

In order to reduce the movement of students around the academy, they are being taught mainly in their form room and will be with the same groups of students as much as possible. For year 7 and 8, the only time they will change room is when they are going to PE or ICT. Year 9 and year 10 move around for their option subjects to access specialist provision and only year 11 are completing their normal timetable so they have access to specialist classes for all their lessons in this crucial exam year.

During the school day, breaks and lunches are staggered and a full one-way system is in place to further avoid the established bubbles from coming into contact with one another. This means that only times they could are during transient lesson changeovers or outdoors. As students arrive to their lessons they must wash their hands and this must be done again before they leave.

As an academy we are wholeheartedly committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students and as such will always encourage students to maintain social distancing where possible. Our teachers continue to deliver the fantastic lessons to which our students have become accustomed to whilst our pastoral staff and attendance team tirelessly perform their roles in order to ensure that every student is supported in reaching their fullest potential during these turbulent times.
