The start of the new academic year has been a strange one to say the least! At Farnley, we are looking to make the very best of the current situation and remain positive. One aspect of our school which we are very proud about is our Student Leadership Team and the impact that they have had over recent years. At the end of last year, we invited year 11 students to express interest in becoming new Head Boy and Head Girl for The Farnley Academy. After a slightly different voting process using google forms, the student body voted in Althea and Tommy as Head Girl and Boy respectively and Faye and Jack as Deputy Head Girl and Boy.
We are really excited to have these four students representing our Academy and our core values over the next year and look forward to seeing what ideas and influence they can bring to the table. They will no doubt face challenges as we adjust our lives to what is being called the ‘new normal’, but more importantly will hopefully develop incredibly well as people during their final year at The Farnley Academy before they move on to the next stage in their lives. Their first job, will to be to assist in the appointment of a new Student Leadership Team. Watch this space!
