Congratulations to Asquith who were successful in reaching the next prize line! All students and staff in Asquith have won a non-school uniform WEEK that will take place on the last week of term, giving the eligible students and staff a reward!

Our students are still busy winning tokens to help their House be crowned as the 2020-2021 champions. We were overwhelmed by the talent we had both in TFA’s got Talent and the TFA bake off in the final week, last half-term. A variation of performances in the talent contest left it difficult for the judges to decide the winners. The winners ranged from singing to sign language, art performances to magic tricks! All of which were inspiring and very well-rehearsed. The TFA bake off was judged in 3 categories: presentation, concept, and taste; this allowed the judges to select 9 winners overall. Again, the quality and quantity of entries was amazing, making it very difficult to select our winners.

So far this term students have taken place in a kindness competition and a Euro themed pop-up event. For the pop-up students were required to guess the total goals to be scored in the entire tournament. The lucky winner of the pop up will receive 300 tokens and an England shirt or football at the end of the tournament!

Students have also been busy participating in a House Rounders tournament during extracurricular. In Year 7, Tomlinson were victorious. The Year 8 competition saw a tie between Tomlinson and Asquith and in Year 9 Bronte took the top spot with Moore a very close second. With plenty of House tokens up for grabs, the friendly competition between all involved was brilliant and we look forward to running more sporting competitions in September.

The students have also been giving the opportunity to get involved in a combined Maths and Art House competition. Students have been asked to create a piece of ‘Maths Art’ which could be seen in the form of an impossible object, curves of pursuit or symmetry. Not able will students be able to win House tokens for this competition, but all entries will be sent off to be in with a chance of winning an android tablet!

Before the end of the year, students will be able to participate in competitions in Music, Science, English and even have one last pop-up event. Sport championships will also take place towards the end of term, allowing students to represent their House in the sports they love.

With the current standings very close, the final push is on for the title. Who will be crowned the 2020-2021 House champion?
