As we welcome our students back, we also restart our House system for another fun filled year of House activities.
First of all, we would like to start off our newsletter by sending all students in Tomlinson a massive congratulations. Their hard work and dedication to the House system earned them the title of the 20/21 House Champions.
However, the token system has been reset and it’s all to play for again. As you may be aware, our form groups have moved back to being in a single House. We have therefore decided to kick this term off with a House form board competition. Form groups are required to work together to create an aesthetically pleasing display that represents all members of the form. There are 300 tokens up for grabs for 1st place, 200 tokens for 2nd and 100 for 3rd. The forms who are victorious with this competition will give their House a great head start for the year ahead.
We are also running or first pop up competition of the year, ‘Farnley’s Tie Tying Time Trail’. We were taken back by the number of students who were not able to tie their tie upon returning to school last week. This competition is a great way for students to learn, meet our uniform expectations and win tokens for their House. For taking part, students will be awarded with one token. If students are able to tie their tie in under 30 seconds, they will be awarded 2 extra tokens and under 15 seconds will earn them 5 extra tokens. The name of this event certainly gets our tongues in a twist but hopefully we won’t be seeing any ties in a twist!
Coming up later this half-term we have a Library, Kindness, Football, Geography, and Pumpkin Carving competition to look forward to. We will keep you updated with the House developments as they unfold, stay tuned!
