Exciting lessons across the Curriculum
Last half-term, I took great delight in observing a range of lessons across the academy. In doing this, it is evident that teachers within our academy work hard to ensure that lessons come to life. In turn, this provides a thirst and love for learning for our students.
Within Science lessons, awe and wonder was evident in the delivery of practical lessons. These skills are pivotal for students in their development and understanding of the way the world works. We’re incredibly proud to facilitate practical lessons of this nature and allow students to develop the analytical skills required to ensure their success within the subject.

Our young and eager historians were using role play to learn about fundamental aspects of life in the past! Students were engaged in the artefacts presented to them within lesson. It was excellent to see a different approach to learning – allowing students to role play key historical figures evidenced their understanding of contextual factors.

Subjects such as Technology demonstrated our students working hard to develop the understanding required to construct 3D shapes. The demonstration provided by Mr Blanchard allowed students to apply this to their own work. As you can see from the image below, it was smiles all around!

Overall, The Farnley Academy consistently ensures an outstanding level of teaching and learning across every classroom within the school. It is a delight and pleasure to watch our fantastic students engage so well with the Curriculum!
