Virtual Road Safety Show

On Tuesday 19 October our Year 7 students took part in a Virtual Road Safety Show by Safer Roads West Yorkshire. This consisted of a 20-minute video about the distractions students can face when using roads, followed by a 30-minute live workshop question and answer session via Microsoft Teams.

This highly engaging event promoted key road safety messages to:

  • Raise awareness of the danger of roadside distractions from music, phones and friends.
  • Help students to identify and cope with peer influence and peer pressure.
  • Promote safe, responsible and positive behaviour amongst students on the home to school journey.

Our students and staff really enjoyed the event and the powerful message behind it. It has made our students reflect on their own road awareness and how they behave whilst on the journey to and from school.
