Every year, all schools within the Trust go head-to-head – or, pen-to-pen to create fantastic writing! This year, the Great Gorse Writing Competition returns.
From Monday 22 November – Friday 10 December, students have the opportunity to enter the competition. Students are given an option of three titles/ideas – from this, students are invited to create a story that fits this title or theme. This year, these titles/themes are:
- A narrative thar begins with the words, ‘One Day’
- A narrative based on the idea of connections
- A narrative with the title, ‘Change’
The entries will be presented in front of a judging panel, made up of some of the best English specialists in the Trust. Winners from each academy will be decided. In order to adequately award students, the following prizes will be up for grabs:
- An overall winner from each year group will receive a £15 Amazon voucher
- Runners up from each year group will receive a £10 Amazon voucher
Last year, we welcomed lots of winners and this year, we want to be bigger and better! Make sure you enter with a chance to win if you are inspired by the above titles. All submissions must go to Mr Washington ahead of the deadline.
