As our student population continues to grow at The Farnley Academy, so does our staffing body. We know that smaller class sizes can have enormous impact when teaching students; they can receive more personalised support and help to make them progress. Therefore, I am delighted to announce that we had four members of staff join the TFA teaching body at the start of this term.

Mrs Stanley

Mrs Stanley joins us as the new Curriculum Leader of Health and Social Care. Her past experience within this role makes her well equipped for the job. Having spoken to her about how she has settled in at The Farnley Academy over the past few weeks, she was happy to report that she is really enjoying her new role, and was particularly keen to mention how wonderful the students here are.

Miss Anyon & Miss Hoyland

Miss Anyon and Miss Hoyland join the Art & Technology department as ECTs. They have both previously worked here for a term, in the role of a Cover Supervisor. They are therefore very well equipped with the policies and procedures that we have in place already. Both staff members report to be enjoying the transition from their previous roles into this one. Both will be mentored by very experienced staff members to enable them success in this early stage of their career.

Mr Trembath

Mr Trembath joins us as the Assistant SENDCo. In this very important role, he will support the SEND team to ensure that students who have any special educational needs will receive the correct amount of support and care to ensure that they’re successful within their studied. He will teach PSHE to our KS3 students, as well as delivering Forensic Reading.
