Over the course of the year, we have already shared the fantastic news about the library and its refurbishment. As you may be aware, our library is now named ‘The Howlett Library’. This is in honour of Lewis Howlett, an English teacher who tragically passed away in 2020. We want to ensure his legacy continues within the school.
As well as the library, we are proud to announce a new award at Prize Presentation. The ‘Lewis Howlett Scholar Award’ is an award that will form part of our celebrations annually. The prize will be awarded to one student who we feel has truly gone above and beyond in their effort within English. The award will not just be based on academic achievement, but be awarded to students who we feel epitomise our core values, much like our beloved Mr Howlett did.
Working alongside the Howlett family, we have designed a trophy that our winner will receive on a yearly basis. The star on the trophy helps to symbolise the achievements of Mr Howlett, and, the achievements of students in receipt of this prize.
We look forward to seeing the recipients of this award of the years.
