Last week we opened our doors to year 8 parents to see the wonders of History!
The after-school event was designed to educate the parents/carers on the content that students were being taught in lesson. Students will decide in year 9 whether or not they want to continue to study History as a subject; therefore, this was a great opportunity to allow those at home to help students make informed choices.
The evening was also focused on showing the wonders of History extra-curricular! The ‘locked-in’ style puzzle game helped promote lots of competition amongst students and was a great example of how the History team are able to use historical sources/artefacts alongside problem solving skills to promote some real engagement.
