Positive Discipline and Self-Regulation
PD is a system that is well understood by staff and students across the academy and applied consistently and fairly. An important element of PD is that we expect instructions to be followed first time every time. This is to keep everyone safe.
The goal
To be able to develop students’ ability to self-regulate and understand the difference between right and wrong. We work hard to ensure that mutual respect coexists with all students and staff in our community.
Our mission is fundamentally pinned on the Academy’s high standards and expectations of behaviour. These high standards and expectations are the bedrock that ensures all students achieve great success within the Academy. This said it is vitally important that students make the correct choice and regulate their own behaviour independently.
Over the next few weeks in form time students will be learning what self-regulation is, why it is important, and given strategies how to improve their own behaviour. Ensuring they can thrive at The Farnley Academy and reach their full potential.
