At the start of the new term, I am always delighted to welcome new staff into our ever-growing academy.
This half-term, the following brand teaching staff have joined our team. These staff members are brand new to the profession and we welcome them into the exciting world of teaching:
ECT1
- Mr Edmondson (MFL)
- Miss Correa (MFL)
- Miss Ovide Figueras (MFL)
- Miss Page (MFL)
- Mr Chalmers (Technology)
- Mr Chitakunye (Science)
- Steph Dale (Science)
- Mr Barber (Music)
- Miss Kelly (Math)
- Mr Lomax (Citizenship/PSHE)
- Miss Ounsworth (Citizenship/PSHE)
- Miss Mansell (Mandarin)
Also in MFL we have Miss Gilby joining us. She is an ECT2 which means she is in her second year of teaching. Mr Jamen also joins the team for our ever-expanding department, who now teach more students than ever. All of our brand new MFL team have fitted in really well and already built fantastic relationships with students.
Additionally, Miss Taylor joins the English team as a really established teacher. Miss Lavender joins as a PSHE/PE teacher and we are really privileged to have Miss Housely join us as the Curriculum Leader of Art.
We are delighted with the start that staff have made. It was excellent to join Miss Ounsworth in her Citizenship lesson this week and see her use the classroom as a court room! Students were assigned different roles. This was just one example of the type of immersive teaching that takes place day in/day out in the academy. The excellent behaviour of our students facilitates the engaging lessons.
I look forward to seeing how our new teachers continue to flourish across the academic year.
