On Friday 11th November 2022, The Farnley Academy paid tribute to the fallen soldiers who have served for our country across the years. All year groups gathered on the quad for a two-minute silence, which followed on from the Last Post, which was expertly executed by our Music teacher, Mr Barber.
Beyond this, however, the week of assemblies were once more dedicated to the brave heroes across many wars. Mr Vickers and the Student Leadership team presented to students from all year groups about a number of different soldiers. Examples of some heroes of war were given from Farnley all the way to Ukraine. The leadership team did a fantastic job of capturing the lives of the few soldiers that were mentioned in assembly.
The pride and respect that students continue to show on this special day helps to demonstrate why our students are so fantastic. I would like to dedicate a special thank you to Mr Vickers and his team for the fantastic job they did in delivering such an important message for all of our cohort of students.
