As you will be aware The Gorse Academies Trust have identified 3 sports that our students participate in regularly; These are Volleyball, Karate and Rowing, not only can children participate these within PE lessons and after school classes, but we also offer additional opportunities to complete at local and national levels. The Farnley Academy is currently the number 1 school for volleyball in the trust.
Volleyball has been particularly successful for a number of our young people. In combination with Leeds Gorse volleyball club, who train at The Ruth Gorse Academy, our students access free training with international coaches and compete with teams from across the country. Not only has this opened up further opportunities for TFA students but it also allowed students to meet Gorse students from other schools and play alongside them.
Teams at all age groups complete at the highest level nationally and some have been selected to represent England.
