Equality vs Equity
On Wednesday 8th March 2023, globally, the International Day for Women was celebrated. Students at The Farnley Academy joined in this celebration.
All year groups received an assembly on the topic of ‘Equality vs Equity’. Fantastic contributions were made from students as to why they felt more needed to be done to have an equal society.
In addition to this, Curriculum areas embraced the opportunity to make links to the fantastic global celebration. Miss Leckenby’s English class engaged in some creative writing, forming characters from different perspectives, where equity over equality may improve their lives.
