At The Farnley Academy, one thing we are incredibly proud of is the promotion of ‘national’ days and events. Whenever a topic is marked to be so significant that an annual event is dedicated to it, we ensure this is embedded into our Curriculum and that our students understand its importance too.
Last week’s assemblies were completely dedicated to ‘World Autism Month’. The United Nations have marked April to be a time to annually promote and celebrate autism so that we can live in a more inclusive society.
Students were extremely responsive in the assembly; they volunteered answers to questions and were very understanding of the need to raise awareness to improve the quality of life for everybody in society.
