Over the past week, Mr Downes has led assemblies for each year group around Attendance and the crucial role it plays in children’s educational journey. Discussed within the assembly were the key barriers to education and strategies to overcome them – including how our dedicated staff body can support in-house with any concerns our students may have.
Also discussed was the incredible rewards programme we have on offer this year. Our 100% attendance club is set to become bigger and better than ever before. From a trip to Nando’s, to three hours at Arcade Club in half-term two. From Flamingo land, to our Winter Wonderland and Farnley Festivals. We have taken on board student feedback and sought to broaden our rewards system in the best way we can.
In and amongst all of this are our amazing pop-up events every week, which aim to reward students in the most fun way possible for their dedication to their attendance. Furthermore, the Club Points system, which last year proved so popular with our students, was re-launched to all year groups. Our cabinet is full of incredible prizes once again, and every student in the school will be able to access club points and use them for a variety of prizes.
One full week of attendance will earn any student one club point, and a full half-term will earn them five! These can now be redeemed at our new Club Points Exchange, where students can exchange points for queue jumps at lunch time, access to weekly pop-up events, and a break or lunch time in our Club Lounge, where they can relax and enjoy a wide variety of arcade games.
Our first reward for students will be a free trip to Nando’s this half-term! The form in each year group with the highest average attendance will be taken for lunch, so students now have the opportunity to work as a team to ensure their classmates benefit from this fabulous opportunity.
Keep an eye out on our website and social media for key updates relating to all-things attendance!
