As the 2023-24 season is in its final months we can once again celebrate the success of the Leeds Gorse Junior Volleyball teams. Whilst last year was incredibly successful for the Under 15 boys, who won the National Championship, this year this has seen unprecedented success for all Junior Teams.
Teams are banded in age categories with Under15, 16 and 18 Teams for boys and girls. This year has seen every team reach the top 8 within the country. This is a staggering achievement as no Leeds teams had a ranking close just 2 years ago.
The next few weekends will determine if the teams reach the final 2 places and contend for the National Championship in April but clearly the future looks very bright for our athletes.
From The Farnley Academy Josh, Emmanuel, Fola and Chloe are first team regulars.
If you wish the watch the Top 8 games they will be available live streamed on Volleyball England’s YouTube page.
Finally, 2 teams are flying out to Italy over the Easter weekend to take part in the World Club Championships, we are sure this will be an experience of a lifetime.
Thank you
Mr Cosgrove
