On Thursday 18 September, we welcomed Y10 families to an informative evening to help them understand more about what their child is learning in KS4. This is an evening that we run every year with the aim of engaging students in their courses and allowing them to have discussions with parents and carers so that they can gather information on how to support them in their GCSE subjects. We are grateful to our members of staff, who go above and beyond to support the students on these evenings, with English, Maths, Science, BTEC Sport, Art and Photography, Business Studies, Health and Social Care, Child Development, MFL, History, Geography, Drama, Hospitality, 3D Art and Design and Computing teachers all on and to provide information to students and parents/carers.
The evening began in the auditorium with a short presentation from Assistant Principal Mr Van der gucht on why Y10 is important, followed by a short delivery from Mr Button, Mr Porter and Ms McDowall, who highlighted how students can be successful in the core subjects of Science, Maths and English respectively.
If there are any students who could not make the evening but would like to access some of the presentations and handouts, please email the school and we will endeavor to send this over.
Thank you to all who attended the event, if there is anything further that we can do to enhance your experience regarding Engage evenings and teacher/parent relationships, please do contact us.
