On Friday 10th October we took part in Hello Yellow for World Mental Health Day. This was to raise awareness and funds for Young Minds, the UK’s leading charity for young people’s mental health. No young person should feel alone with their mental health and that’s why Hello Yellow matters. We took this opportunity as a school community to come together and show our students that we’re with them and they’re never alone with their mental health.

During the week we:

  • Hosted a bake sale where we raised £200.92 for Young Minds
  • Played Well Being Bingo
  • Participated in a Doodling Feelings Activity in which students explored different feelings, how to manage different feelings and when to ask for help if they become too much.
  • Participated in a Peer Support Pledge Activity in which students wrote pledges to one another about mental health and what we can do help each other feel less alone with our mental health.
  • Had a display in the library linked to Mental Health with Mindfulness activities to complete.

Most importantly, we wanted to share the resources which Young Minds offer to support parents and carers if you ever need help and advice to support your children.

This includes:

A huge thank you to everyone who participated during the week! It was a great success overall!
