Here at The Farnley Academy, we do not and will not tolerate bullying of any kind. If bullying does occur, this is swiftly and appropriately sanctioned in line with our Positive Discipline (PD) system. Ensuring that this is a safe and positive learning environment for all.
A definition of bullying is as follows: The use of force, coercion, or threat, to abuse, aggressively dominate or intimidate someone which is often repeated and becomes a habit for the bully. Types of bullying include:
- Rumours
- Threats
- Name calling
- Leaving someone out
- Cyber threats (online)
- Damaging property
- Stealing
- Racial slurs
- Physical abuse
Don’t be a bystander and take a stand against bullying. There is no place in our community for bullying. Don’t suffer in silence, if you are being bullied or you see someone being bullied, come forward and tell an adult at home or a member of staff in school. We will support you.
Let’s keep Farnley free from bullying!
Kindness, one of our 3 Core Values at TFA, should be adhered to at all times and have the attitude of “if you’ve got nothing nice to say, do not say anything at all”. TFA is a place where students want to attend and there is no place for bullying within our school and our community.
