Armley Helping Hands is a charity supporting older people living in Armley and Wortley. They aim to provide facilities for education, recreation and leisure time activities with a view to improve quality of life and reduce social isolation.

Since lockdown began Armley Helping Hands have been a vital frontline service for people aged 50 upwards who are having to self isolate. They have been delivering vital support services such a food parcels and prescriptions. During this time they have also reached out to help more people in our local area including young adults and families in need of support.

Armley Helping Hands is an amazing charity and we were so pleased to learn that Cory S one of our Year 7 students had been helping them out. The charity were due to celebrate their 25th birthday with a party, however due to the lockdown this was not possible so Cory and mum delivered afternoon tea to local isolated and vulnerable adults.

We are so very proud of Cory putting a smile on so many faces during this difficult time and we hope that we will be able to support Armley Helping Hands in the future.
