At The Farnley Academy this year we have elevated our expectations on presentation in exercise books for students. We want students to feel empowered to revise and take pride in their presentation of their own work to aid their revision ahead of examinations. Therefore we have invested in bespoke exercise books for our students for all of their lessons.
Each department was able to design their own revision pages, key word pages and top tips to include in the inside covers of the books to aid students learning and revision. The ease with which students can access this key information has already made an impact in lessons. Miss Pickering said: ‘In maths I have already noticed students using the formula page at the back to remind themselves during the purple zone.’
To promote a love for lifelong learning we want students to be aware of the type of jobs that each subject could lead them to. Aspirational careers have been included on the back covers of each book as well.
Students feel proud of their books and the work they are producing in them in their first few days back the The Farnley Academy is exceptional!
