On Wednesday 22nd October 2021 The Farnley Academy hosted its first Careers fair since the national lockdown and what a fantastic event it was. With 20 exhibitors including local colleges, apprenticeship provides, universities and employers, the Academy saw an incredible 414 students and parents/Carers walk through the doors.
The purpose of this event was to demonstrate some of the amazing opportunities that Leeds has to offer and get our year 10 and 11 students excited for their futures. Advice was provided by our exhibitors to ensure that our students are more equipped when it comes to careers and Post-16 education to allow them to make informed decisions regarding their futures.
When asked if they had and further comments or questions one student wrote ‘nope it was perfect.’ whilst another student stated ‘Yes, it was informative and will allow us to look at all options available’.
As an academy we are already excited for next year’s careers fair and strive to make it even better than this year.
