All students at TFA are given key information on how to stay safe both inside and outside of school. Empowerment Days play an essential part in preparing our students for life outside of education. It is our priority to ensure that students have a variety of tools and information to be able to tackle anything that life may throw at them and to become upstanding members of the community.
On the first Empowerment Day of the academic year, students in Year 9-11 looked at a wide range of important subjects outside of the National Curriculum.
Year 9 focussed on aspects of both physical and mental health while also looking at what it is like live in Britain.
Year 10 covered a range of topics including consent and exploitation, how to manage stress and to begin planning for the future.
Year 11 looked at the skills needed to be a parent, how to respond to challenges they may face in later life and how to evaluate different credit cards.
The day was very positive with many students commenting on how informative and impactful the sessions had been and how they were able to explore their views in a safe and secure environment
Students will build on the topics of relationships, health, finances, and careers over 5 Empowerment days across the year.
