As we reach the Christmas break, the second prize line has been reached. Congratulations to Tomlinson who have shown excellent resilience to come from behind to take the lead! It just shows that any House can take the lead! As a reward for reaching the second prize line, both staff and students will enjoy a non-uniform on the final day of term, along with a crispy-creme donut at break time!
Next term, Miss Hart will meet the House Captains to review the prize lines to make the rewards even more exciting, with something all staff and students can enjoy. We are looking forward to seeing what the next reward will be!
Across the year, every subject hosts a House competition. Alongside this, Miss Hart and the House Captains run House pop-up competitions at break time and lunch time. The Tie-Tying Relay was a particular favourite and highly entertaining. In Week 10, staff took part in a House badminton competition with some friendly rivalry between the staff members trying to win tokens for the House! Well done to the members of staff in Asquith for winning 300 tokens in this event!
This term, we are proud that 58% of students have already participated in at least one House competition! We want 100% of students to participate and look forward to the quirky and creative competitions that will take place after Christmas! Already, students have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of competitions: Science, History, MFL, Geography, Maths, English and Art and Design have all held departmental House competitions and we are impressed with the quality of entries and the time and thought students have put into them. We have had some compassionate poems linked with Remembrance Day, and Kindness banners created to celebrate World Kindness Day and Anti-Bullying week.
