Last academic year saw the launch of our Every Child Should initiative, with the aim of providing our students with enriching and inspiring opportunities to enhance their cultural capital. We provided an extraordinary range of experiences to students both within the academy and through external visits which we feel are extremely important for young people to experience alongside their academic subjects, especially having missed out on so much over the last couple of years.
The feedback received from and about our students was highly positive and we hope to build upon this momentum this year by making some updates to the programme. The single biggest request from students was that more of them wanted to go out of the academy on a visit, so our aim this year is to take as many of our students out to an external venue as possible.
In order to facilitate this, we have had to condense the experiences into one day in the academic year as taking the whole school out on a trip is a huge logistical undertaking. However, we never settle for anything less than exceptional so will be providing a range of venues to visit for each year group and continue to evolve the initiative.
