History Trip to Thackray Medical Museum

On Monday 18th June, Year 7 students had the exciting opportunity to take part in a History visit to the Thackray Medical Museum in Leeds. This trip provided our Year 7 students with an insight into a vital element of the new GCSE course.  The museum allowed students to explore living and working conditions in 19th century Britain, explore a character on an interactive street and try to find a cure for themselves in a pre-vaccination Britain. Students also discovered the advances in medical care through the centuries, including surgical innovations, improved survival rates and the importance of plastic in modern healthcare!
