House Competitions are one of the ways that The Farnley Academy promotes healthy competition and further praises our students for their contributions and efforts. Students can receive house tokens in a number of ways:
- Clean slate house tokens – Provided by the form tutor each week for receiving 0 negative comments.
- Kindness house tokens – for each 2 kindness stamps, students will be issued a house token from their form tutor
- Lesson house tokens – A student in each lesson can be awarded a purple house token for their efforts and/or contributions.
- SLT house tokens – Each week in PD, the SLT Head of House visits form groups to award students’ gold house tokens. This could be for improved attendance, behaviour, or overall attitude to school.
- Principal token – Students are nominated by their form tutor to receive Principal praise. This can result in a ‘gold bar’ Principal token.
- Each half term students have the opportunity to compete for additional house tokens by taking part in ‘Pop-up’ house competitions.
