The News can be a dreary and down heartening realm and there has been much to worry about over the past year. However, amongst it are some exceptional stories of kindness and community cohesion which deserve more recognition. We receive many e-mails at the Farnley Academy and there are some which are always shared. Feedback from our community is really important to us, it helps us deliver positive change and an exceptional education. Positive feedback which we receive from parents, carers, external agencies and members of the community has a massive impact on morale which in the current climate of uncertainty is greatly appreciated and we thank you for it. Feedback is kind. It is reflected in the excellent manners shown by our students when they hold a door,  offer to support with an activity or support a friend.

Now that restrictions are lifting we want to get back into our community and demonstrate this core value which we hold so dear. From litter picking to entertaining in primary schools and care homes we have missed getting out there and demonstrating our beliefs. There will be a new section of the stamps box to recognise kindness and there are going to be some associated rewards which as our students know are never anything but exceptional!

We benefit greatly from the values you instil in students prior to their arrival here at Farnley and never take for granted how Resilient, Ambitious and Kind our cohort of students is when they arrive in year 7. We are excited to welcome our incoming cohort to the kindest and most supportive environment possible and by having kindness as a focus for the next term we can ensure that it is even more visible and even more welcoming.
