It has been great to see so many of young people engaging in this years Children’s Mental Health Week. The theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week was My Voice Matters. The week was all about empowering our young people to use their voices and share what matter to them in a positive way, whilst encouraging those around them to hear their voices.
Throughout the week students participated in an online assembly and completed several activities in form time linked to this year’s theme. My personal highlight of the week was reading and organising the anonymous kindness cards that students completed to thank their peers and teachers for the “small” things they have done to make their days better. It was so lovely to read how many of young people greet one another, hold doors open for others, check in on their friends and peers, invite peers to play sports and / or complete activities with them. The academies core value of kindness really shone through this week and it was great to be a part of it.
I hope everyone has a lovely term and come back ready to take on the next half term!
