In the October holiday The Farnley Academy was upgraded yet again to ensure that we have the very best facilities for our students. Our growing student population means that we need more classrooms than ever before in order to keep class sizes to an average of 23 students per class. The impact of smaller class sizes on pupil’s progress is unquestionable and we are committed to keeping class sizes down for this reason.

A number of changes were made to the top floor of Asquith to remove partition walls from office spaces to create another two classrooms for our students. The new rooms will be predominantly used for Maths lessons and will therefore reduce the number of different rooms that students have lessons in, creating more consistency for our students.

We are constantly looking for improved ways to use the building space that we have to maximise the learning for our students.
