Open Evening 2021
We were so excited that we were able to invite families to our Open Evening this year, so they could see for themselves what an extraordinary place TFA is. We had more than 1000 people attend on the evening and it was definitely worth the visit.
On arrival families collected a copy of our shiny new prospectus and attended a presentation from our Principal, Mr Stokes outlining why The Farnley Academy is the top choice for families in the area. We also had excellent musical performances from Chrissie in Year 8 on the piano and students playing the African drums.
After some fizz (alcohol free of course!) it was off to see what our departments had on offer. They put on some amazing activities; we had explosions in science, crime scenes in English, a Spanish marketplace just to name a few, and families even got to try our our new spin studio and climbing wall.
Our main attraction was definitely the 100% Attendance Club Lounge; filled with arcade games and sweet treats it’s a phenomenal space and we can’t wait to open it up to our 100% Attendance Club students next week.
There was a chance to win a £25 voucher in each department and if families managed to visit all departments there was a chance to spin the wheel for a £100 voucher.
An event would not be complete without food and our catering team at Taylor Shaw did a magnificent tapas menu for us and we even had crepes freshly made by our MFL teachers.
We had over 200 student helpers on the evening, supporting with departments of being tour guides for families. To thank all of our brilliant student helpers for their support they received a letter from Mr Stokes and a non-uniform day!
We have had several requests to make our Principal’s Presentation videos available so here are the links….
