On Thursday 08 November 2018, the award winning Operating Theatre Live were in school to give Year 9 students an insight into what a profession in the medical field may entail. 30 Year 9 students from TFA were joined by 30 Morley Academy students for a day filled with informative yet fun sessions on transferrable skills, problem solving and hands on dissections.
Operating Theatre Live is an organisation which works with younger generations to inform them about the medical field and demonstrate clinical scenarios by turning your school hall into a real-life operating theatre. The fully immersive and interactive Inspire a Doctor Programme covers the dissection of real swine specimen which involved the removal of brains and dissection of eyes in a hospital-style experience. A real focus was placed
on aspiration through inspiration throughout the event and on the whole, student feedback has been outstanding.
