This half term the PSHE teachers have been collaborating with the TFA careers team to support Year 11 through their transitional period to post 16.
ll year 11 PSHE classes have taken part in two sessions, hosted by Go Higher West Yorkshire. Go Higher West Yorkshire is a partnership of 13 Higher Education (HE) providers, working collaboratively to reduce long-standing inequalities in access to, success in and progression from higher education.
Year 11 have focussed on 2 key themes within their workshops:
- Transferable Skills
- Study Skills
These sessions have provided year 11 with the opportunity to reflect on how they study, the barriers they may face and how to overcome these.
In addition, students have explored the importance of understanding the type of learner that they are in order to support their revision and study skills, in preparation to transfer this into further education or employment.
