On Thursday evening we hosted an Engage Evening with a focus on Social Emotional and Mental Health concerns.

Our Key Note Speaker was Aliceson O’Beirne, a previous nurse with a history of working with the NHS for over 20 years.

Aliceson spoke to students and parents about the brain development of teenagers and the importance of sleep and healthy relationships in the home.

This was followed by parents/carers having the opportunity to speak to external agencies such as Kooth, The Youth Service, Forward Leeds and colleagues from The Farnley Academy. It was an excellent turn out with feedback such as ‘Insightful presentation giving a broad overview of the issues young people face and why’.
