One former student got in touch to share his amazing journey so far after leaving the academy in 2015. Lewis achieved great qualifications at TFA after hard work and great commitment to his studies, not only did his qualifications stand him in good stead but his attitude, manners and relationships were exemplary. Lewis has detailed his time after TFA below, this includes details and a video of his involvement in a Space Programme.
Life after TFA:
At The Farnley Academy I enjoyed most subjects but I was inspired by Mrs Bromley, teacher of science, to pursue a career in STEM. I attended Elliott Hudson College studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science where I decided I wanted to study Physics at university. After failing to meet my firm university offer, I studied a BSc in Physics with Astrophysics at the University of Leicester which was an amazing experience. I am now studying a master’s in Physics at Imperial College London.
Highlights so far:
Being selected by the European Space Agency along with 23 other students from across Europe and Canada to launch a sounding rocket at Andøya Space Center, Norway.
