Unfortunately, owing to continued government restrictions, it will not be possible for us to run our full transition programme, which would normally include a visit to the academy in July. However, we are in close contact with our feeder Primary Schools and will be visiting the Year 6 students shortly.

Additionally, we will be holding a ‘Meet Us’ event in school where we will invite parents / carers and their child into school to meet their form tutor, hear important information about how our academy works, and ask any questions they may have. This extremely important event will be completed in small groups, allowing parents / carers the opportunity to get answers to the questions that matter most to them.

Finally, we are absolutely thrilled that we will be running a Summer School this year. With so much time missed from school owing to the global pandemic, we are keen to ensure that all students make a fantastic start with us in September. Our Summer School will give students the opportunity to attend school for four half days and one full day during the summer holiday. Whilst in school students will complete exciting team building activities, alongside ensuring that they have all of the required knowledge to start year 7 in English, mathematics and science.

For those students who attend all week, they will be provided with their first 100% Attendance Club reward which will include a large array of Inflatables, games, sweet treats and also an opportunity for some lucky students to go on a Helicopter tour around the local area! This once in a lifetime opportunity will recognise the commitment that students have shown to making a fantastic start at The Farnley Academy.

We very much look forward to welcoming our new students and their parents / carers to the academy in the near future.
