Five of our Year 9 students had the opportunity of a lifetime to visit Trinidad with Miss Fowler!
They stayed at the Asa Wright Nature Centre, a world-renowned research facility deep in the Trinidad jungle.
Students visited Maracas Beach and headed to Caroni Swamp to see the flamingos and fantastic Scarlet Ibis. They then visited Wild Fowl Trust, who specialise in helping breed birds that are endangered such and the blue and gold Macaws. Next students went to Bush Bush Island and were lucky to see a capuchin monkey, later they spent time at Maracas waterfall, this is the tallest waterfall in the Caribbean. Students visited Tamana bat cave, one of the largest caves in the Caribbean and home to 11 different species of bat. They were so brave climbing through the small chimney into the cave.
Students has the most amazing time and fully immersed themselves into rainforest life, tried lots of new food and laughed all the way through.
