At The Farnley Academy we recognise the importance of providing ‘World Class Pastoral Care’.

As well as ensuring your child receives outstanding teaching and learning we know as a parent and carer what matters most is that your child feels happy and safe in school.

In recognition of this we have made some significant changes to the structure of our Pastoral Support Team at The Farnley Academy.

Your child now has access to the following colleagues to ensure that holistically all their needs are being met:

A Form Tutor who will meet with your child daily, care for them and crucially, monitor their progress both academically and socially; encouraging involvement, commitment, and high standards of work and behaviour.

A non-teaching Pastoral Support Officer who will deal with all behaviour and safety matters and general day to day concerns.

An Academic Progress Leader who is responsible for ensuring your child makes outstanding progress.

An Attendance Officer who will carefully monitor your child’s attendance and punctuality. They will be responsible for processing any attendance contracts or fines.

An Inclusion Team, consisting of Learning Mentors and qualified Child Protection Officers to ensure your child’s welfare is protected.

An SLT Lead who will not be directly involved in the day to day activities of the year group but will oversee and quality assure what is taking place, as well as resolve more serious behaviour concerns or parental enquires.

This team will endeavour to liaise closely with you as parents/carers as we know the research shows that there are measurable benefits when parents/carers are actively engaged in their child’s learning.

If you have any concerns relating to your child’s experience at The Farnley Academy please contact the relevant member of staff as it is important to us we remove and anxieties you may have.
