Friday June 19 saw our Year 11 cohort say their goodbyes to the school for the final time, whilst we will certainly miss them it is the start of their exciting journey into Post-16 education or employment.
Clearly they have not experienced year 10 and 11 as previous year groups but we have been delighted with their resilience and effort in the production of their Teacher Assessed Grades and all related assessments. Over their final weeks we delivered a very different enrichment curriculum to ensure they ready for the future, this has included teaching about tax, sexual education, strategies to improve mental health and a range of other topics we felt would be useful.
The final week saw a range of events to help them sign in style:
Monday – A visit from our local ice-cream man to help with the warm weather.
Tuesday – Non uniform day
Wednesday – Period 6 book signing to leave messages for friends and from teachers
Thursday – Students received their leaving hoodies paid for by the academy
Friday – Leavers event this included a BBQ, shirt signing and a leavers assembly that was very well received.
We are incredibly proud of all our Year 11 cohort and know that they will be leaving us with a strong moral purpose and excellent qualifications.
If anyone encounters any issues in the future, we would always be happy to help.
Mr Cosgrove
